I am also "blessed" with more than one sleep disorder (narcolepsy and mixed apnea.) When I first came here, it was either Phillip or the student who said,"sleep disorders don't always fit into neat packages." I have problems waking up in the morning and staying awake after that. I've been to councilors and haved tried antidepressants. The symptoms just never went away.
A lot of people, including some doctors, will tell you you are depressed. Hypersomnia and insomnia may indicate that.
It's good to find a doctor that will listen to you- if you have had overnight sleep studies it sounds like someone is taking your symptoms seriously. My primary care physician did not know how to interpret my sleep study correctly. Therefore, I did not receive effective treatment. I went to a specialist, was retested, and am on my quest for effective treatment. I would suggest consulting with a neurologist- one who specializes in sleep medicine. Mine also has a degree in psychology. If your local hospital has a web page, you can search for a doctor there- or look in the yellow pages (online or old-school).
This page is great support, but noone here can diagnose you.
Good luck, I hope you find answers and relief soon.
