I had blood taken a week before my last sleep study. I know that my doctor screened my blood for a lot of things that could also be causing, or contributing to my sleepiness. They did a CBC (complete blood count) and a differential (where they compare how many blood cells of each type). They also checked my thyroid count. They took more blood at the the sleep clinic right before my study. I haven't heard about whether or not I have the narcolepsy gene.
