I don't think that it's the pharmacists being nosy; rather, they are merely trying to ensure that class/schedule II meds don't get into the hands of the "wrong" people.

Everytime I need to go get a script for a class/sched II drug filled, I'm always asked to show my Driver's License (for records), and on occasion, I'm asked why I'm on the meds. (Though, I've been to the pharmacy so many times now, they've seen me--and they know that I have N).
