Posted by whatnow on January 31, 2002 at 20:42:54:In a large nutshell.
April -new job. Boss infatuated. July, boss visits while I'm off duty, extremely drunk. Boss makes move, I accept. Boss pursues for months, I avoid advances. September diagnosed with EDS, begin meds, working OK. October, finally tell boss "NO WAY". Days later, performance issues, yadayadayada. No other option, I file with HR. Investigation during Dec, Boss fired. Small office, other employees good friends with fired boss. They believe whatever nonsense he has made up. Now..office with no boss, employees hate me, writing notes, obvious phone calls about situation. New manager out of state, never met me. Knows others. Continual reporting of situation with limited results. Meds stop working in Dec. Stress seems to make 80mg Ritalin, 400mg Provigil act like sedatives. Scheduled for another sleep study, meanwhile placed off work, cant drive and reported for nodding off at work. New boss not happy with being off work. After study is complete doc can adjust meds. Dr wants to do study while on meds to see whats happening. I refrained from any EEOC filing because they fired the jerk, now I have hostile work environment, documented medical suffering due to incident, and no energy to think about court battle.Anybody else have meds just stop working like this due to stress? My house is a wreck, took 3 hours to pay bills, the only thing that keeps me awake is computer, but then I'm jumping tasks so often I forget what the original intent was. I feel I'm not spending any quality time with my child. Funny thing, concerning the job, I LOVE WHAT I DO and I don't feel good about looking for something similar with another company. End of large nut shell only to reveal whats inside....."A NUT" HELP.
