night owls

Posted by altheacoG on February 02, 2002 at 23:22:32:

I know I can't be the only true night owl here... I don't really come to till the night is going good. I do my best stuff after 10pm. I work nights, don't do mornings well at all!! Am I the only one that has a hard time going to bed period?? It's like I don't want to give in to sleep, it is something I have actively fought my whole life. So I will stay up as long as I can, it's like I am afraid to go to sleep. And I certainly don't want to go get in a BED!! I seem to alternate between staying awake as much as I can and my body shutting down so I cannot get up. Because once I go to bed, I am so out and getting back up is sooo hard. So I stay up as long as I can possibly take it. It has been this way for forever. I only started on meds recently (just diagnosed in Dec.) so I cant attribute it to meds.
Also, I think the teacher thing is a great idea. I have always wanted to go back and tell my teachers what was up. When I was in school, I really caught a lot of flack over the sleepiness. I had one teacher that made me stand up in the back of the classroom, where I would still doze off. Then he would proceed to humiliate me in front of the whole class. Same teacher gave me a big fat zero everytime he caught me sleeping, caused me to not graduate. I only found out three days before graduation day!!! Boy have I wanted to give that man a piece of my mind!! I remember my KINDERGARTEN teacher waking me up, my shirly temple curls plastered to my cheek with drool... I am just so thankful to know I am not crazy after all!
God has a reason for everything, a time and a season. He has a purpose for my life or I wouldn't be here today. I am very blessed, as we all are.
