I know your feeling that you're the only night owl out there. I've been one all my life. Never wanted to go to bed early, always get more done at night. As an infant, I could stay up later than my parents.
I dont know why I always want to sleep in the morning or afternoon.. but once 8pm hits, I can go until 5am or later.. even if I got 1-4 hours of sleep the night before... I dont even notice the passage of time then.. just keep going and going...As annoying as all those doctors are when they tell you to get a REGULAR sleep schedule, they are right... Even just getting the same exact number of hours of sleep a night works wonders on helping you be sleepy at the right time and wake up on time.. though nothing beats 8 hours 11pm-7am everyday for regulated sleep.
My N didnt really hit me until I was in high school. I slept through 1st period all the time.. by senior year, I slept through it every day unless there was a test.
My teachers pretty much gave up on me, stopped bothering to wake me up. I had one math teacher 2nd period senior year though... I had missed my 1st period nap since we'd had a test, so I slept through 2nd period instead... Well that teacher decided to call my mom and tell her that I probably had Mono.. My mom bothered me for weeks to see if I was "Feeling ok"
I'd like to go back and tell that teacher what it really was. I'm sure a lot of other teachers would appreciate knowing that their classes really werent that boring.
If teachers were more educated, I could have gotten tested and treated 3 years sooner... would have saved my GPA a lot.. not to mention the embarrasing times when I snored, drooled, or talked in my sleep during a class.Big Sleepy- I never napped during naptime either, I miss the wake-up fairy , I wish I had one of those now instead of a stupid alarm clock. (incidentally, I NEVER got to be the wakeup fairy since it was chosen based on how quiet you were during naptime, or how well-behaved you were during the day. Since I was always talking and couldnt sleep or sit still during the naps, I never ever got to be the fairy *sniff sniff*)
