You might try searching the forums for ADD and ADHD. I don't know if it has been discussed here much, but I know I have seen posts somewhere that explore the connection between these and N. I think many adults who have N also have/had ADD/ADHD behavior in school. I have always suspected I had a little attention deficit, but I don't recall being hyper. In school, I always did (and still do) look out into the hallway everytime someone walked by. My attention span was not necessarily short, just easily disrupted w/o much consequence in keeping my train of thot. Did a lot of day dreaming but I think I kind of absorbed info being taught by osmosis. Anyone else like that?

My N definitely hit me when I was in Jr Hi, so that would be just a few years past 9. I have twin neice and nephew who are 11. I am watching Megan for possible N. She seems to become drowsy when doing homework and I "see" her little eyes doing what I know mine do in microsleeps but she keeps struggling on in between the flutterings. She also has has had some problems w/ falling asleep in class or appearing to not be there mentally (another daydreamer). Sean has cerebral palsy so he is easily fatigued just because everything he does takes 10 times the effort. These kids have had such a rough life that it is hard to sort out what is genetic and what is environmental or due to having arrived 3 mos prematurely.

I'd say check any suspicions out thoroughly. The more quickly it is caught, the better the chance of success in treatment and adjusted lifestyle.
