I'm not a medical doctor (or any other sort of medical person), but from what I understand from hanging out on this board for several years, what you describe (Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (aka EDS) and Cataplexy) sure fits the classic narc. pattern. In fact, if I remember correctly, cataplexy only occurs in narcolepsy. So, it sounds to me like that's what you've got.
