Partner left b/c of medical probs - help

Posted by Jayde on April 30, 2002 at 22:14:28:

One More Problem I forgot to mention (yeah, right LOL:)

Has anyone had a spouse or significant other leave because of N or other medical conditions??

My significant other has said he can't deal with this anymore and he needs to leave. My life and all it's problems bring him down and he just can't have that - but yet he does still love me.

I am on a ritalin roller coaster as they are trying to get my dose properly adjusted. 40mg had me twitching and 25mg did quite do it. Now we are going to try 30 and see how that works. I also take other meds and have had some other things going on (ie; gallbladder surgery with complications; nutritional deficiency w/ lots of weight loss because of gallbladder (and gastric by-pass) etc.) He knew what came with me when he took this relationship on and promised to be there. Now he is gone. I am devastated because it is nothing I have control over. I can't just make my narcolepsy go away (as he thinks I can with a few life adjustments). I am seeing a nutritionist to get some weight back on and I am trying to work through my father's death. But, I guess that isn't enough - and he feels he must leave.

If anyone can help me get through this, I'd be greatful. Losing my father - I barely function - and now losing him has left me at the bottom.
