If I remember correctly about 20% of people that have narcolepsy do not have low hypocretin levels, and if you read about alot of diseases it is usual for there to be seveal ways to end up with any given disorder. To me weakness (they call it hypotonia) is to cataplexy what nausea is to throwing up. as I understand from talking to other people with narcolepsy there are some that suffer from little if any weakness between cataplexy spells (even if they are having alot of attachs) and then there are some like myself that don't go down alot but are horribly weak most all the time. I don't think the cataplexy medicine works that well, people survive by controling thier feelings. the important thing is are you surviving well ? How are you doing?
