Hi, this is my first time on this forum, i'm so glad i found it. Anyway, what you are experiencing is what my doctor calls 'muscle atrophy', which most narcoleptics experience at some time or another. He stated you can feel it when you have a sudden hit of any emotion, such as laughing at a joke, scared, even fatigue. It could be as slight as weakening of the knees, or even feeling lightheaded. I get this feeling often. So you are not alone, and your wife is right, it isn't obvious or seen externally, it is something we 'feel'. I hope this helps.
