Hi,
You could be getting sleep paralysis. People with Narcolepsy get this as do normal people who aren't getting enough sleep.
I have N and get it. Your whole body stays paralysed (as it has to to protect your self from acting out your dreams) or becomes paralysed to early but you are still awake. This means that no matter what you try to do you aren't able to shout out or mave.
I get loud white noise and sometimes a kind of electric sensation (hard to describe!)
If you are scared reassure yourself it is quite normal, it will pass.
Also try to avoid lying on your back. Someone suggested this to me and it hasn't happened since.Listen to a radio to help you feel in the land of the living in bed. I find it helps to ground me and reassures me that I am conscious and still in this world!
Check with your doctor if you aren't convinced though!
Take care of yourself, you are not on your own.
