My diagnosis is somewhere in between idiopathic hypersomnia and narcolepsy. I have symptoms with many features from N, but not all. Anyway, I also have an arrythmia. It did not start due to caffeine use, but caffeine certainly can aggravate it. Too much caffeine combined with Provigil will also make me anxious. Reliance on caffeine is pretty hard to break for someone with IH or N. I hope your husband can find some way to work things out without having to have the ablation. It seems pretty drastic. However, having this type of neurogical disorder can make one feel pretty desperate. I always find myself going back to drinking some caffeine, but I try to keep it to a minimum.
