Yes I am Air Force. An A1C to be exact. I have been in 2 years and 9 months. Unfortunately, I was only recently diagnosed with N, as of end of March. Prior to the diagnosis I reciewved a mountain of "bad stuff". Numerous Letters of Counseling and Letters of Reprimand. I then received an Article 15 and was promply given and Unfavorable Information File. And In the same day they dealt out the punishment for that, they also told me that my promotion for Senior Airman was Nonrecommended with a 6 month suspension on it.....so if I am good I can have my stripe in July. All of this because I can't wake up in the mornings. Then I failed my CDC test (fell asleep in the middle of it) and as punishment.....the condition of passing my retake is also in the balance for my promotion. Also have to work 10 hour days with no lunch hour and I have to study for 3 hours of that time. So since my diagnosis I have been trying to get this stuff taken away....I havent been very successful so far.
I am a Contracting Specialist......"Desk Jockey" so the EDS is no simple task. Their idea of accomodation was to change my schedule from 7:30 to 4:30 to 8 to 5....which went out the window when I failed my test. Now I work 8 to 6.
I am in the process of trying to find a somewhat knowledgeable person at the hospital but none of them seem to know what they are doing. Just yesterday I had a Major tell me I knew more about this than she did......that gave me a warm fuzzy! I saw another doctor today and he is initiating my medical evaluation paperwork to get me out. (No problem with that here.....way easier than dealing with this at every new base). So I don't know....its just a big huge mess. Oh yea you asked how long my commander will be here....another year and a half I think. But I am supposed to PCS in November. If they dont boot me first.
Well I hope this wasnt too scatter brained....I tend to do that alot lol. Thanx for replying....I appreciate all the advice I can get. And that Network website was really informative. Thanx again.
