apnea and narcolepsy

Posted by Dement on May 11, 2002 at 20:31:22:

i am just wondering is there are any of u out there that have narcolepsy and sleep apena..... it ruins my life basically ... i get so sleepy cause of narcolepsy but then the sleep apena doesn't let me sleep long so i don't get much sleep. could this cause massive weight gain? cause i have heard if u don't get enough sleep u can gain weight.. i mean i am a 25 year old male and have gained so much weight cause of these illness's and it depresses me so much i have delt with them since i was 17 .... went through a 7 year depression because of it all. but now because of my weight i feel i am starting to fall into another depression... and see my main prob with narcolepsy is the cataplexy part so that's one reason i can't just go run all the time or stuff like that cause if i get to tired my body can completely collapse on me. god i dunno what to do anymore i feel iam falling back into a deep depression again and i don't want that. lets not mention what it has done to my social life. ... then again what social life? lol i don't have one... anyway hope this stuff makes since all jumbled up like it is lol... thanks
