Talk to your doctor about whether the positive benefit is from the pain meds or from the fact that you maybe having a postoperative decrease in your N symptoms as a result of the surgery itself.

I have heard that surgical stress can reduce N symptoms for a short time postoperatively. This would confound what you are experiencing with pain meds. Enjoy it no matter the reason why!
