There is a note in most medical journals that there is a statistical association with narcolepsy and obesity....that is, narcoleptic patients are at greater risk to be overweight/obese.

(my personal suspicion is two-fold: 1. some narcolepsy patients crave sweets as a 'symptom' and 2. eating may be a self-stimulating technique, which goes back to craving sweets - for the sugar rush and extra energy to make it through the next hour.)
