I'm sorry to hear that Provigil didn't help him. Because he still felt sleepy?
I thought it might help you to know that some people are helped by Provigil if they just have a little bit of a stimulant too, like Adderall, to head off that sleepy effect while still keeping the "awareness" effect.
AND, the co. that makes Provigil has a patient reimbursement program that you can find out about if you email them and ask about it.
Just FYI's for anyone interested.
He really has to avoid high doses of any stimulant tho...including Adderall.
Also, if you do research on caffeine, you'll find that it's not as
innocuous as it seems. Turned out for me at least, that it's one of the things that really wears me out, (by the next day) because of its adrenaline system interaction.
Good luck to you, he is fortunate to have a supportive wife like you.
