Posted by Josie on August 05, 2002 at 12:35:25:Hi everyone,
I've been taking Ritalin for a couple of weeks and it's working really well, much better than Provigil. In an hour of so after taking it I'm fully awake and alert and can do whatever I want. Work out? Do laundry? Wash the car? It's mine for the choosing. The only problem is that the meter is running and when my time is up and the pill wears off I'm back into full blown narcolepsy with excessive sleepiness and almost no energy to move.
In your experience, is this how treatment goes? Do you have to plan your well hours and your disease hours? One day I would like to get another job. When you reach the tolerance level of Ritalin or Dexedrine, what do you do? Do you schedule your vacation time to go back into full-blown narcolepsy to lower drug resistance?
Never expected a cure, but this seems strange, like living on borrowed time each day that will have to be returned and it's back to being a person with no orexin.
Excuse me if these questions have been asked before on the fourms but this all seems quite new and novel to me.
