Heat tolerance

Posted by spot on August 08, 2002 at 06:39:38:

Hi. Sleepykitty made a comment related to heat tolerance for PWNs. Could anyone who finds this association maybe post? So I could see? I ask because that's one thing we've noticed strongly for our son; I can guarentee RBD, etc if it's hot out. Because he doesn't fit the profile (too young) of PWN, it's very possible that the original cause is quite different that for most of you; I thought perhaps it was a birth malformation in the brain or something because the area of the brain related to sleep/wake/hypocretin also helps regulate temperature and growth (he's small for his age, relative to parent's height). And since I have't heard the temperature connection before for PWN, I would be very interested if that' s the case for many of you. Also helpful hints, if anyone has any. He's always worn jammie bottoms to sleep and precious else. A fan directly on him in summer or sleeping in our AC bedroom, and the window open in winter. It's a permanent 4 degrees celcius in his room, I swear.
