Personal research of narcolepsy

Posted by Bill on August 10, 2002 at 12:34:40:

Has anyone else been doing their own personal research on narcolepsy? I have narcolepsy and cataplexy (about 1 C attack per day) and I'm tired of getting knocked out by it so I'm ready to research this problem and figure out what is going on. Currently I am in my senior year majoring in biochemistry and physics and after college I want to go to grad school for neuroscience and then as a career research sleep since I do so much of it. Does anyone else notice any other symptoms other than sleep-related like food intake, temperature control, motivational states, emotions? If anyone else is ready to start looking more into this like I am let me know.
