I have two types of sleep attacks. The common one is that draining feeling which means if I don't want to start drooling in public I better lay down. The sleep lasts 1/2 to 3 hours and when I wake up there is no relief from the usual sleepiness. The second type is very uncommon and only seems to occur when I get out of my schedule and really push things for a few days. With those I just fall asleep wherever I am, there is no control. I have vivid dreams, not nightmares, and when I wake up it feels as if I've been asleep for hours but it's usually only about 10 minutes. I feel awake after one of these attacks. After 40 years of this I try not to analyze it anymore. TL
