I rarely have an instantaneous sleep attack, unless I am unusually tired or stressed and even then, I have some degree of control over it. Most of the time, my attacks are like TLs, I KNOW I have to lay down or this feeling will not go away. My sleep attacks last typically 2 hours and occur 1-2 times a day. With no meds, it's a definite, a sleep attack will happen usually 3 hours or so after I awaken. Eating a really heavy meal in the evening will make me have a sleep attack - it's very weard, I can physically feel it come over me, almost like I've taken a sleeping pill or something. It's hard to describe.
