That is an awful lot of meds to be taking. When Provigil first became available, I read up on it as much as I could before deciding to switch from Ritilan (I took 1 Ritilin SR in the a.m., then 10 mg doses every three hours thereafter). When my doc switched me to Provigil, he started me on 1/2 of a 200 mg tab in the a.m., then the other 1/2 at lunchtime, which soon increased to a full 200 mg dose at lunchtime. He explained to me that 400 mg is the maximum dosage at which Provigil is going to be effective, and that if I found we needed to increase my dose to 400 mg and it still wasn't working, that we should consider going back to Ritilan. He said that taking more than 400 mg was shown in studies to be no more effective than a 400 mg dose (i.e., not more effective just because you take more). So, you are taking 800 mg of Provigil a day? Maybe you should discuss this with your doctor or try to read up on it yourself, just to be sure.

Good luck!
