Weight Gain and Memory Loss with Narcolepsy

My 17 year old daughter has Narcolepsy. She put on 30 pounds in four months and has not been able to take it off. She takes four Tenuate a day and four Trazadone at night. She also suffers with some memory loss. Is the memory loss a frequent problem and has anyone had luck with the weight situation? She has been on many other medicines, but suffers with many side effects.
