Lack of sleep and Narcolepsy

Posted by Mei on August 25, 1999 at 10:25:27:

I was wondering if anybody would know the effect of a lack of sleep would have on narcolepsy. I am in college right now and I have a pretty wild schedule. However, I find that I have a problem staying awake with just 2 hours of sleep as I do with a really good 8 hours. It is to the point that I cannot stay awake in class, I have to relie upon a tape recorder (my counselor is even aware of my dozing problem). And at times I blank out at the wheel, not just nodding off, but sometimes I end up driving and driving and not remembering coming the way that I did. Could this be just my crazy schedule or is this a symptom?
