I usually only have sleep paralysis upon first dozing off..it is almost like an out of body experience as I am fully aware of what is happening, but it is VERY, VERY real! As I begin fighting against it, I believe I am probably coming up to a higher state of wakefulness and eventually reach a point where I can move. I have even argued w/my husb. to turn on the light as a snake, mouse, etc is "crawling on me" while he is reassuring me it is not. Only after he turns on the light am I fully awake and realize it was only a dream. Also, sometimes I would swear I am motioning or talking in these dreams and he assures me I haven't moved a muscle or made a sound! It can almost make you think you are going crazy!!! P.S. I'm new at this-what does BTW stand for???
