I recall someone in this forum (or maybe forum1) relating a true horror story of methedrine addiction over something like 30 yrs. and being unable to get off of it or use anything else for her narcolepsy. I know that meth is a very pure form of amphetamine and therefore I wonder if it isn't used because of it's greater addictive potential. Maybe people weren't having side effects in the Mayo Clinic article because they never tried to withdraw from it (though I'd think they'd have to increase their dose over time due to tolerance).
