My doctor recently told me that cataplexy has something to do with the limbic system. I notice that it seems to worsen with caffeine, which does help me stay awake. I tried wearing a medic alert
because sometimes I fall like leaves off a tree. But, no one understood what cataplexy was and we ran out of space for enough information. I teach and, lately, I have taken to using a collapsible cane that does help me get to the closest chair when I fell one coming on.
