Sorry that "uplifted" sounded like "high". Did not mean that. Just felt alert, happy to have no fog or nap for those 5 hours.
I will have to check whether I should not be taking meds 6 weeks before testing. Is this standard? I asked my doctor if he had treated a lot of people with narcolepsy and he said that he had not, and that the sleep lab where I was tested for sleep apnea was also not an accredited one. When I told him that I wanted MSLT before taking meds, he gave me a referral for a neurologist at an acredited sleep lab in another city. This means the cost will be automatically covered by the medical center and I will not have to pay for it. But the date is not even set yet. He told me there would probably be a wait and suggested I try the medication in the mean time. I guess I thought as long as I would be following up on it, there would be no harm in trying provigil. I am so attracted by the possibility of less sleepiness. I would like to at least experience what a whole clear week would be like without being exhausted or having to pull my car over, even if it does not last. I guess I will call the lab and ask about meds before I keep on with provigil. I appreciate the tip very much, but GRRR it is agrevating that I have to go to outside resources to get correct advise on all this.
