I am extrodinarly happy that you are pretty psychologically stable, that Provigil works well for you. I think I remember from an earlier post that you have been on it for 8 months. It took 16 months for me to go completly sideways on it..the first time. Why have you been on it only 8 months? It was aproved for general rx in February of 98, which is when I started it.

I have serious concerns about long term usage and abuse, that it is being rx'd in large quantities as a lifestyle drug. Cephalon sold one billion dollars worth (wholesale price) and I am seeing that a fair fraction of PWN can not use it long term. Who was it sold to?

Since I have been off it, I have used Provigil 2 times as a PDR when I absolutely have to stay awake for the day. I took the start up headache as a part of the process. I will admit that it worked well in that circumstance for me. It also worked well for me the first several months of usage, my problems with it were mainlly long term.

I do hope that Provigil is a usable drug for you and continues. I am always glad to hear that a PWN is succeding on a drug modality. I hope it lasts for you and that you can come back and tell us one million more times how good it is for you:)

I will ask that you not base my inability to use Provigil on my psychological basis or yours. I do not know about yours, mine is just fine, thanks.

Tom
