Quote from "Narcolepsy and Sleep Disorders" Volume 1, No. 4 October-December 1995

" L-tyrosine is an amino acid the the body uses to make important brain chemicals, including dopamine and norepinephrine. L-tyrosine can be considered a "natural" substance insofar as it is manufactured by the body itself and is found in many foods." End Quote

I have found that all my N symptoms (EDS, SP, C and HH) are significantly reduced on this modality. It may be in part that I don't take anything else to interfere with my normal (giggle) sleep pattern. I am satisfied enough that it will be a while before I even consider Xyrem. I went to Provigil when it was first introduced, I think I will let some one else discover the potential side effects of Xyrem.
