I started with 20mg of slow release in the morning... I find it best if I roll over and take it before I actually need to get up so I try to set the alarm a little early (usually around 7:30) by noon or so I am really tired and need to nap or take another dose. I usually don't have the time to nap, so I take another 20mg. Sometimes I take another dose of 20mg SR or 5-10mg or quick release later in the afternoon. I guess that would usually be about 40-50mg/day.
I don't find it all that stimulating -I honestly think I have ADD because the Ritalin does wake me up, but it keeps me pretty mellow and doesn't keep me up at night. I actually have less anxiety than before and friends seem relieved that I'm speaking more slowly now. What I hate, though, is that if I'm really tired, it might wake me up but I feel brain dead and will stutter, forget what I'm saying in the middle of a sentence, make stupid mistakes, and become sort of dyslexic (especially with numbers). I've read about "Provigil Stoopids" but I'm wondering if anyone else gets Ritalin Stoopids like I do. Does anyone else have this problem with Ritalin?I notice it gets a lot worse toward the end of the week (I take drug breaks on the weekends and sleep a lot).
