Cataplexy or something else?

Posted by PerchanceToDream on November 20, 2002 at 12:10:08:

I was curious if anyone else experiences this, as my sleep doctor was not able to explain it:

Sometimes when I nap, and occasionally when I wake up in the morning my muscles will be weak and I shake badly all over. I am so uncoordinated that I have fallen over and walked into walls when trying to go through the door. When I was 10-12 I slept in a bunk bed and would sometimes get tangled in the ladder or fall when trying to climb down (ouch). The muscle weakness/shaking usually wears off within a few minutes.

Could this be a form of C? My doctor said he didn't think it was, but he didn't have any better suggestions. I'm curious and would like to know if any of you have this problem and/or what it is. Your input is appreciated!
