Hi!

In a way it`s a lot easier to be taken "seriously" with the diagnose on a paper. Then it`s like: "Ok, I accept, just don`t talk about it" :-)
On the other hand, you just as well forget "seriously" when living as a narcoleptic. How serioulsy can you expect to be taken when you explain: "I`m sorry I left the contrcacts on the xerox copier instead of in the mail box, it`s because of my REM automatic behaviors" I suppose it sounds as convincing as "I was drunk at the time" or "My tentacles got stuck in the fax machine" :-)

If I were you I would send a e-mail to Foreningen for søvnsykdommer and ask what they suggest about school situation. Or to the woman who wrote the article, I`ve seen her name before, I think she has worked with narcolepsy for a while. And as I`ve said before, because this is regarding vidergående I think you are in position to get more help than other not dignosed narcoleptics.

And other possible way to a diagnose is to volentere to Ullevål Sykehus hypocretin research project. I might be wrong, but I think they are in need of test persons, so I think it`s possible even if you don`t live in Oslo. That is, if you dare having them mess with your spine. The main issue with this test is analysis of spinal fluid. I said no myself, but maybe this fair I have is totally groundless.
