Changing sleep schedule?

Posted by Barely awake on November 23, 2002 at 16:14:56:

I have a question...I've been seeing a therapist for depression, and she is trying to get me to change some of my not-so-great habits, like sleeping all day. This week I'm supposed to find out some information about ways to change my sleep schedule to help reduce my sleepiness during the day.

Problem is, I seem to be tired no matter what time I go to bed. Today it was unbelievable-- I have slept for 16 hours straight, and I could still go back to bed. This in itself is very depressing...I have a lot of schoolwork to catch up on, as I've slept through many classes....and I got absolutely nothing done.

Do any of you have ideas about ways to get on a regular, normal sleeping schedule, or know of websites where I can find information on this? I could really use some help.

Thanks,

Barely awake
