I find that in moderation exercise helps me to stay alert during the day. However, if I exercise to intensly, I tend to over work myself, causing my body to not only want to sleep, but to need sleep more often. Also, I find that exercise only works when I do exercise on a regular basis, at least three times a week, and when I include a good thirty minutes or so of a cardiovascular workout in each exercise session. I hope my response helps, I find that when I follow this routine, it increases my ability to concentrate during the day.
