I've been to enough psyhologists, therapists over the years because for me, depression has been ongoing with IH. I've come to the unkind conclusion that when it come to working with PWN, these folks are useless bumps on logs. OK, not all of them but the vast majority. You bring them medical records and as soon as they hear sleepiness and daytime napping they go on about making changes and sleeping less. It's like someone going in missing a leg and being told your problem is you are wearing the wrong type shoe. I want them to help me in coping with the effects of daily life with a sleep disorder. I don't need them to tell me it's all in my mind and that they can cure me. They put much weight in the multiple psychological tests they give, but show them your MSLT results and they give that blank look. One guy I went to told me he could cure, yes CURE, my IH by having him help me in sessions of positive thinking. And my insurance would cover it!

They one that really helped me had me make a daily log of sleeping, EDS, napping, and other sypmtoms for a month. Then she showed me the pattern that existed and that life would be much easier if I worked my daily life within it. That was 13 years ago and it is the only thing that has kept me from really going over the deep end.

So my very biased personal opinion is for you to explain to her that you have a physical disease and if she continues to work on you changing your sleep schedule then look for another practitioner. Good Luck!
