Your sleepiness history sounds much like mine, and I don't have N, I have IH. A sleep study would be worth it just so you can get a diagnosis and plan as best you can for the future. In the future you may be in situations where a bit of accommodation would make your life much easier, Having a diagnosis of your sleep disorder would probably be needed in order for you to take advantage of available assistance. And perhaps, not lots of hope from my experience, some friends and relatives may understand that there's a physical disorder involved instead of you just being lazy. Best wishes.
