No problem. I also have other symptoms: hypnogogic hallucinations, EDS, sometimes sleep paralysis, and vivid dreaming where I later believe that the dream happened if it coincides with current events and circumstances. No I don't have the cataplexy as far as I know. Sometimes my legs get a little weaker when I'm feeling the tiredness or I have a hard time opening a med. bottle that is normally very easy for me, but I've never had any of this triggered by an emotional response. Stress makes things worse as it does with any medical issue.

Once I darn near called 911 because I woke thinking I could hear someone in the house while I was alone for the night. I was proof positive and even thought I had seen the shadows of his boots under the door. I didn't call because after I woke up the sounds stopped, but it took another 10 minutes of sitting terrified in bed ready to leave out the window before I started to settle down and then check the house just to put my mind at ease. That's even though I have never had someone break into the house whether we were home or not! Another prime example was a day in high school where I believed for an entire day that my dog could talk, right up until I sat down and talked to him and then asked him why he wouldn't talk back because he had last night. Then it clicked that it must have been a dream, glad I didn't talk about how excited I was about it during any of my classes!

I was diagnosed by symptoms, physical exam, in office EEG, 24hr EEG, and response to meds. I wasn't given a sleep study, probably because it was in 1991 when it may not have been considered standard practice. I don't know on that one. They did rule out seizures and other things. I see a sleep specialist next week and hopefully will get a full sleep study with MLST because I'm having so much increased trouble despite meds.

See ya.
