special treatment at work

Posted by CuddleBunny on March 12, 2003 at 22:47:21:

I took that MLST test and the doctor says I could have narcolespy cause I feel asleep around 5 min each time, but he said he doesn't want to label it that yet, and says for now ideopathic hypersomnia and has me on Modafinil which really isn't helping. Taking a one hour nap at lunch (we get a 30 min lunch but I would gladly skip the 2 fifteen min breaks to add to it) would help me immensely. But I am embarrassed to ask for it. Is that something I should try to wait longer on? By the time I get off work, I am a walking zombie, then come home and crash..or torture myself to stay awake a little while so I can try to sleep thru the nite. I am just so worn down I don't know what to do. A one hour nap really helps me a lot, but I don't want people to think I am getting special treatment. I am bipolar and have never asked for special treatment cause I never felt I needed it. How do yall handle stuff like this? Any ideas? The bosses where I work should understand, since I do work in a medical clinic? Ideas anyone?
Thanks
