Provigil/Emergency Room Visit

Posted by sleepyme on March 13, 2003 at 08:53:00:

First, my history with N. Symptons started in High School (1988);official diagnosis in 7/00 (finally);have problems with all 4 symptoms but have only been medicated for the EDS;I take 400mg of Provigil when I get up and 200mg more at lunch, have been on that regimen since diagnosis and it
seemed to help me stay somewhat awake.

After taking the lunchtime dose last night at work, I started feeling really weird, like I was drunk. This had
occured 2 nights last week also, but it didn't last long and I really didn't give it a whole lot of thought. But when it happened last night, it was bad.I was off balance, couldn't think straight, and goofy like. Then it evolved into anxity attack like symptoms also.
Had to leave work and go to the ER. All my vitals were good so they told me it was a reaction to the Provigil.
Gave me 2 Xanax and sent me packing. I will call me Dr today.
Anyone with a simular story ?????
