Cat, I'm curious why you say not to let your employer talk to your dr? What was your experience?

My sleep dr wanted my employer to call him to discuss any concerns they had w/ the accommodations he requested in writing. He kept insisting to me to have them call to get it all worked out. They didn't want to, of course, and never did; I realized after the fact they were already putting the wheels in motion to fire me since I was trying to exercise my ADA rights.

As for the FMLA, HR didn't even mention it to me as an option when I was asking them how many jobs they expected me to transfer to before we determined I needed to begin drawing long term disability. Yeah, if you don't look out for yourself, you'll never make it because your employer isn't going to go finding ways for you to do so.
