Narcolepsy and Military.UPDATE!

Posted by Clint on August 05, 2003 at 18:23:41:

Many of you might remember me posting here earlier this year about narcolepsy and the military.

I served 3 years in the Air Force and have now been discharged. It took me roughly 2 1/2 months to have my med board, have the results, and be discharged. I was discharged with an $11k seperation check and a 10% disability rating. After that it took about 2 months to file my VA paperwork and I was given a 20% disability rating and qualified for Vocational Rehab.

I am now in school finishing my degree. Luckly I havent had to work thanks to my girlfriend who makes quite a bit of $$$. This has made it easy for me to get used to normal life with narcolepsy.

All in all it was a non-hectic process but that was with a lot of wonderfull people here helping me and support from family and friends. If any of you are in the military and dealing with narcolepsy feel free to contact me .
