leg cramps(charlie horses)

Hey y'all-
I am really glad to have found this forum..I have been recently diagnosed w/ N. It is so refreshing to me to find others who have the same symptoms-I felt like I was an oddity for awhile.

I started on ritalin and hated it-made my face ichy and made me terribly thirsty and irritable. And being a single mom of a very active 4 year old I needed patience, not anger. So I switched to Adderall-at first to the time released-which I really liked but my insurance wouldn't cover it ($52 for two weeks supply-Ouch!) So my doc put me on generic adderall and after a fashion we settled on 15 mg
3x a day which works if I don't take too long between dosages, drink lots of water and eat healthy snacks during the day. At first I had insomnia but my doc told me to start exercising and that has helped. I have lost about 15 pounds since I started on the meds(about 3 months) but I still eat and am not too concerned about that.

Herein lies the problem: the last two weeks I have been getting terrible leg cramps at night-they started mild and now the pain is so bad I am close to tears. I am not excercising that hard- doing a few pilates and walking a bit- and I stretch out- I'm wondering if the medication has anything to do with this? I'm wondering if this is a type of medication that depletes calicium or potassium-I take a daily vitamin and have plenty of calcium-the pharmacist said leg cramps weren't a side effect but thought I would see if anyone has had the same problem.

Any Thoughts would be appreciated-
Mojo
