I have had reoccurring cramps in my foot arches at night, and some charlie horses during the day while I am at the computer. I suspect that it could be related to the Ritalin that I sporadically take. I don't know what it does, but heard something said about affecting enzymes in the muscles. Maybe someone else will know.
