Help - Why am I tired all the time?

Posted by willow on August 12, 2003 at 06:29:18:

Hello to you all,
I've only just discovered this website after doing a search asking 'why am I so tired ALL the time'?
So it looks like there are all sorts of reasonable explanations for beng tired, could be the medication I am taking for anxiety, however I seem to remember being a sleepy head way before that!
Although I have got used to my nick name being 'lazy bird', I would like to revert back to old me when I was the life and soul of every party and couldn't sit still as I had too much to say.
Now I am somebody that seems to be constantly complaning that I am too tired and can't be bothered to do anything. Which couldn't be further from the truth, I would love to get up and play a game of tennis or go for a swim only the problem is that I feel worse than I did before!
There doesn't seem to be any way around it, I have 12 hours sleep, I feel terrible, I have 8 hours sleep, I feel terrible, I have no sleep, I feel just as bad. I am a constant source of amusment to my friends and family as I can even make it past the trailers before a film starts and I'm off in the land of nod. And not to mention the toilets at work, well who would have thought it possible to sleep in a public toilet?
But the thing that worries me the most is being at the wheel of my car and drifting off, even when I haven't had a hard day at work. Not only that but I feel like I have a slide projector in my head as the second I close my eyes vivid images start to drop down and I feel like I am dreaming whilst still awake.
Can anybody shed any light, does this sound like you? If it does, i would appreicate your advice.
Many regards, a confused (slightly grumpy) fellow sleepy friend.
