The first signs of narcolepsy I remember were being terrified when I would drive. I was seeing a psychiatrist for depression and anxiety and I kept telling him that I was falling asleep when I drive. Things would just become fuzzy and I would realize I just ran a stop sign. He asked me if I had had my eyes checked. Finally after I didn't leave the house for two weeks, and sleeping most of the time I made an appt. with a neurologist. After being diagnosed everything in my past made sense to me. The vivid dreams, being paralized and terrified upon awakening. Once I started on the medication my life changed completely. I started getting so much done during the day, I had energy it was unbelievable. Its been 4 years since I started medication and I still have issues but not everyday. From time to time I have to change my medication when I become immune to the dosage. During that time you will fill a bit low in energy but I make it through everything with the help of my family. Educated your family is so important for you to get better.
