Henry in New York, I may be misinterpreting your posting in this thread, but it seems to me your tone is superior and unnecessarily harsh. I agree that this forum is a place to encourage inquisitive thinking, question unsubstantiated diagnoses and promote independent research. However, none of us have been medically diagnosed by our own ideas. We must work together with our physician toward a diagnosis. Sharing suggestions in a positive tone promotes more discussion and is likely to facilitate greater understanding. Thank you for your insight on the HLA test and the information about Stanford University's spinal test. I have also questioned the accuracy of a test that has such a large margin of "maybe". Though I believe many doctors are still using the HLA for patients not displaying all the typical Narcolepsy symptoms. My insurance company required more confirmation for a diagnosis.
