Posted by naptime on September 11, 2003 at 21:48:42:Sleep study results- fell asleep within 1.5 minutes during nightime sleep study, had fairly normal sleep, with no incidents of apnea. (That last part is funny, because I had a previous sleep study showing mild apnea.) The next day I fell asleep within 2 minutes all 5 times- with no REM sleep. I had VERY vivid dreams during all 5 naps. The study was last week and I still remember a couple of them- I hate those ones. It's almost like they become memories of something real that happened.
Anyway the sleep dr. prescribed Provigil. 200 mg in am ED. The first couple days now and I felt.. well.. kind of whacked. Jittery, couldn't really keep things straight in my head, and just generally all wound up. It lasts until about 2 pm or so then I go through a small crash. I was actually a little sleepy this afternoon but was able to keep going. My questions are the following.
1. Should I continue with the same AM only dose.
2. Or split the dose into am and say, lunch.
3. Or will I develop a little tolerance? This one I'm most curious to hear from others about. I'd actually prefer a little tolerance so that I could take another dose later in the day. I'm afraid that it'd keep me up at night. Also, I haven't felt this AWAKE in years. I know you know exactly what I'm talking about- I just walked out of the fuzzy haze and into reality. Too bad my hands are shaky- but it's certainly worth it!
